MANTIQUEIRA

The region has a centuries-old tradition in the production of quality coffee.

Located on the mining side of Serra da Mantiqueira, in the south of Minas Gerais. It is a mountainous region (900 to 1500 meters) without mechanization, naturally fertile soils, a mild climate with excellent rainfall.

Coffee characteristics:

Washed Milds – citrus and floral notes, creamy and dense body, citric acidity with high medium intensity, high sweetness, long finish.

Natural – citrus, floral, fruity, creamy and dense body, medium-high acidity, high sweetness.

SÍTIO ROCINHA

The Sitio Rocinha was bought by my grandfather in 1962..

The coffee plantation began in 1970, the tradition was passed on to future generations and, in 1986, my mother inherited her part. My father and I continued the tradition, and the coffee plantation became our main source of income.With an altitude of 1,250 meters, our producing region is located in the Serra da Mantiqueira, in the city of Pedralva, south of Minas Gerais, part of a demarcated area known as Mantiqueira de Minas.

Coffee processing system

The harvest is selective, made only when the fruits are ripe, by hand, in cloths, preventing the coffee beans from coming into contact with the soil.

On the same day of harvest, the grains are taken to the drying patio, placed in thin layers in the first days, where they are scrambled every twenty minutes. The layers are thickened slowly until the moisture reaches 11%.

Currently the farm has a suspended yard to obtain a higher quality coffee. If necessary, the coffee goes to the mechanical dryer, after drying, goes to rest in the warehouse for 30 days. After these procedures, the coffee is processed and deposited at cooperative, where a team of professionals will pack and prepares the coffee bean to be commercialized by Agrorigem. We are always dedicated to the cultivation of coffee in a sustainable and conscious way, preserving and respecting the environment.
